Hi again.

I got the landy started over the weekend not running spot on but it's a start. Looking round the tyres and it's got 7.50 x 16 on the rear flamingo how do I tell if these are cross ply or radicals? On the front I have 205 80 16 any advice would be great.

Cheers steve

The advice is do not run in four wheel drive with your present set up. You may get away with it on really loose going but on hard surfaces the diffs or gearbox will having a hard time and could break.
I run 205/80/16 all round, not a bad choice for me as a daily driver.

The letter tells you what they are, so 7.50R16 and 205/85R16 are radial. 7.50X16 would be crossply (xply) :)

All driven tyres should be the same size other wise as the gear box and/or diff try to turn all wheels at the same speed, the wheels will be turning at different speeds due to different circumferences - this causes stress and something will break...

This is not so, the front and rear axles are not linked when in high box on the road and although not best practice it will do no harm.Off road in low box wheel slip will limit the loading. You can even run different size wheels on the same axle, the diff takes care of the different wheel speeds just as it does going around corners[it thinks it's going around one all the time] Plod might not be impressed though.:)
