HI Guys,

As I've had the last set of TOYO open country ATs on my 110 for the last 9 years it's finally time to get some new replacements. Wheels are looking a bit dodgy so I'm thinking of getting a package deal again. 90% of my driving is on road but I still want to look forward to getting off tarmac. There are three choices that I've come up with:

235/85/16 B F Goodrich T/A KO 2 All Terrain 120S

235/85/16 General Grabber AT3 120/116S
https://www.4x4tyres.co.uk/16-tuff-...16516520hdutblk?tyre=04507000000&chassis=5467

235/85/16 Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx 120Q

If anyone has tried these tyres and found any problems I'd love to hear from you.

cheers

I’ve had the top two and the earlier version of the Coopers. They are all quality tires.

The BF Goodrich TAKO2 is an outstanding tyre that copes with snow and ice very well. I had all four fitted for £640.

I found the General Grabbers the noisiest.

Another to consider is the Yokohama Geolander AT-S - very nice tyre on road and very grippy.

I am on my second set of General Grabber TR tyres, they are very hard wearing and an excellent all round tyre, my original set still had 50% tread on them at 40k miles when I replaced them due to age (nearly 14 years old) and a couple that needed inflating every week due to cracked rubber valves so bit the bullet and renewed like for like. I do not notice any tyre noise from this tread.

thanks guys, the grabbers did have comments about noise in some reviews. I'll take a look at the Geolander.

Sorry I put AT in my reply I meant I have TR tyres on my 90, I think the AT tyres are noisier but I never notice any noise from my TR tread in my 90 TD5.

I have edited my first reply now.

I am big fan of the BFG's that would be my preference. My first set of bfg's (old style) did 100k and I sold them with 4mm of tread!! I have not yet worn out a set of the ko2's but if they are of a similar standard you cant go wrong.

+1 for BFG A/T’s. Mine did 30k before I sold them with my disco and they had not even a quarter of the tread worn. You don’t get many tyres wearing as well on a Landy.
