hello everyone, I dont own a range rover but Im a Paramedic and have been to two Road traffic collisions recently involving range rovers and I couldnt turn them off or remove the keys?!
Is there a button or switch I need to be pressing/flipping before removing the ignition key?
The last job was a Range rover on its side(hit a high kerb and barrier and flipped!) and the engine was still running, the key turned fully to the left but I couldnt remove it? everything was still turned on and all the instruments were still 'alive'
I felt a bit of a plum not being able to turn it off but the coppers on scene couldnt do it either!
Im sure its something simple that Ive overlooked but cant find any info on the net.
Ive been on here before in a different guise as I have owned defenders and freelanders in the past. Thanks in advance. Gary

were they autos?I cant take me key out on me hitler mobile if the selector is anything other than P

Hi
You dont say what model youre refering to.
I can`t comment on the mk3 or sport but the classic and p38 just turn off as any normal car whether in gear / drive or not.

Not sure what a 'hitler mobile' is, but this is definitely true for the Range Rover L322 (TD6, etc). The autobox selector has to be in Park to get the key out and most L322's are autos.
