advice please 300tdi landrover whilst I was doing some maintenance a clump of oily tissue was sucked into the air intake didn't realise until I tried to drive off later. I took off the elbow hose and found the restriction and refitted everything back together but now my hose from the intercooler back to the engine is sucking flat. Stripped it down again to check turbo blades their spinning freely hoses are clear intercooler Doesnt seem blocked do you have any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
 
If it sucked into the air inlet, how did that happen?

have you looked at the air filter?

Had the hose from the snorkel off whilst I was fitting an air conditioning pump to use as a air compressor for my tyres. Needed to reroute the hose

OK, well I would think you have a restriction / blockage somewhere.

I would start pulling pipes at certain points running the engine when NO PAPER Is around and see what is going on.

Lol the only pipe left to check is the solid pipe from the outlet to the bottom of the cooler I will have to do that tomorrow after work too cold and dark now.

Air filter box and pipes were took off whilst I was working my son had cleaned up some parts and left the tissue on the side of the wing unbeknown to me when I started it to check the compressor it must have fell into the engine bay and got sucked up the elbow joint
 
OK, now that makes sense, Nice when you get the whole story....Blaming the Son ..Classic...LOL.

Give your Intercooler a good soak and flush with petrol, blow it out and let it dry.

To be honest he's a good lad for a 21 year old he's keen to help and don't mind getting his hands dirty but he is a bit sloppy and messy while he works.

The intercooler must be blocked if the pressure difference across the inlet manifold pipe is causing it to flatten. When you say you cleared the restriction, some of the oily tissue must have got through the turbo! The core tubes are pretty fine, so the oily tissue may well have blocked a reasonable proportion of the tubes. The demand from the engine is obviously more that can be supplied by the turbo through the remaining core tubes. I wouldn't be running it if I was you.

Thanks for your help and advice is it possible to flush the cooler out or do I need to buy a new one

Given the cost of them I would certainly try flushing it first. What kind of tissue was it? Some tissue is designed to disintegrate in to individual fibres, others aren't.
Do you have a compressor?

That's a god send. Designed to fall apart in to very small fibres, so will flush out easily. It's designed to fall apart in water in the loo, quickly falling in to fibres as it rolls down the sewer. Being impregnated with oil just causes a minor inconvenience. You just need to use a solvent.
