How much is too much?

Basically i've rebuilt the engine from sump up. It has fought, every step of the way from snapped glow plug (machined out) to stripping the treads on said glow plug. The ripping a inlet threads out.

Being bored after putting the outlet on wobbled the turbo and there is about 2mm of play.

Does thag need rebuilding too?

Not very scientific but if you give the impellor a hard push to one side and rotate it at the same time, if the vanes do not touch the casing it is most likely okay.
But 2mm of play does sound excessive.

In my mind if you have done a full rebuild, then a new/recon turbo would be the best way to go.

Just rebuild it. I bought a new UK made turbo core for 120 quid and did it myself. Absolute piece of **** to do and you're safe in the knowledge your turbo is good as new
