ello, 1990,90td. the heat shroud that covers the turbo, i was told that they are a lot of money, and im tight. has anyone repared one and if so what did you use?. i have one but its in a few bits, thought about using fiberglass matting or ali. any ideas.

aint got one either and dont have under bonnet insulation and its never caused me any problems, lets face it they aint gonna exactly get to glowin cherry red or owt are they
 
if you really want to replace the heat cover then take a look under most fords just above the exhaust. you will find an aluminium type heat shroud between the exhaust and the body, just rip it off and use a block of wood and a hammer to shape it to fit over your turbo, drill a couple of holes to mount it and hey presto you got yourself a heat shroud.
