Well I do understand, that the booster allows the turbo pressure to go beyond the standard settings in the ECU. The boost itself is increased by adjusting the waste gate.
I already did so. I have an Alive Tuning remap, larger intercooler etc - but no Turbo Booster Hardware.
When reading the Alive Tuning instruction http://www.alivetuning.com/alive-boutique/download/Booster-Installation-Guide.pdf I understand they recommend no more than 18 psi boost measured at the inlet manifold. Adding the atmospheric pressure (app 15 psi) I should aim for a maximum of 33 psi = 227 kpa - as maximum.
However, without the booster I already reach 238 kpa (Nanocom inlet manifold reading) ...without going into limp mode.
So, why should I buy a booster? - and how is 238 kpa possible with the setup I have - which excludes the Turbo Booster?
Does the Alive remap already allow a higher turbo pressure thus not really needing the Turbo Booster hardware?
