Benz R'over

Hi All,

Ok, I know nothing about Land Rovers built after 1970, always farted about with the early stuff, but a chance visit to the local scrappies ended up in the purchase of a 200tdi engine from a 1991 discovery, and a knackered 300tdi engine from a Defender of unknown year (yes, her indoors went mental, you know the routine!)

My question is:-

Will the 300tdi turbo work happily on the 200tdi engine??
Reason for change would be, that the Defender manifold will be an easier fit (I think) around my series II chassis?

Another question would be, "Is the injector pump interchangable" as it would be nice to know I have a spare?
(Defender engine had hydraulic'd after being driven through water, and has a bent connecting rod, so pump etc. should be ok???)

Any help greatly appreciated

Ken.

If you have an 88" series, the disco motor will install like it was made for it, but your battery will need a new home. I have not had the chance to see for myself, but have heard that the 300TDI manifold will go on a 200TDI.. since you have both, it would be really easy to find out... As for the Turbo itself, it doesn't care what motor it is hooked up to. It is set to produce slightly more boost than the 200TDI turbo, but that is easily adjusted down.
