Suffolk County Council are placing an 'experimental' 18 month TRO on this lane to ban all motor vehicles, during the first six months of the order they will allow objections or representations to be made, based on which will determine if the experimental closure becomes permanent.

If you have an objection please send them (in writing) to heather.miller@suffolk.gov.uk, detailing the grounds on which the objections are made, if at all possible please also ask them a question that requires a response as this guarantees that the objection is taken into account. Any objections must be made by the 2nd November 2013.

There is no reason to close this lane permanently. It requires mostly basic maintenance that has been left long overdue. Some pruning back and clearance, that would allow this lane to drain and dry properly.

We all need to write, both users and anyone else (such as passengers) who feel it is wrong to permanently deny one usergroup of yet another Public Right of Way in the area, and county.

I haven't walked to the nortern end recently, but the last time I did I had to walk on the edge of the field the other side of the hedge due to the badly rutted surface and flooding.

The ground around here does not drain very well so care has to be taken by drivers during wet weather otherwise the surface will get cut up & lanes closed.

Another lane nearby has a temp TRO on it after drivers found one section impossible to drive through due to deep ruts, so they took a slight detour, through the farmers cropped field. When he put a row of fence post along the side of his field to protect his crops, someone drove over the fence posts. Result- council closed the lane to vechicles, horse riders & cyclists until repairs can be carried out.
