I decided to make me own for 2 reasons. First off, they're expensive to buy for what they are. Secondly, I think it's very difficult to get a proper seal to the outside of the wing and the plastic mouldings inside the wing are a poor fit.

I used a length of 70mm flexible ducting (cut into 2 pieces), a length of 2.5" plastic downpipe and 2 downpipe 90 deg bends. Also needed were some jubilee clips and some strip ally (to make the brackets).
I got the top second hand from flea-bay for a tenner.
The total cost was less than 30 quid and it works - I tested it by putting a plastic bag over the top and the engine stopped.

Am reet pleased with meeself.

Top job trewy. I don't know if it is just the pics but the exterior of the ducting looks a bit fragile?

It was pretty tough to cut!
I did consider using 70mm Silicone pipe on the outside, but it's expensive - a possible option for the future if it gets damaged.

ear thats quite good. Didn't someone on ear make on from chimney insulation piping, yer could try that if yours int up to it, but I can't see why not, unless you catch it on a tree or something laning

I know this is a bit late, but did you look into going through the wing top as opposed to the side???

yes, but the windscreen washer bottle is in the way (it's removed in the photos) and I couldn't see anywhere to relocate it.

and, of course, I wouldn't want to damage me chequer plate

Ere Trewey, that looks proper - see you in the pond!

I cud do with summat like that adapted for my dubiously wired in filter, might have to take advice some time! (and when do you want me for that axle???)

How yer fixed fer Tuesday? I've done a deal with me neighbour - I'm helping him fix his Disco door on Monday, he's helping me with the axle on Tuesday. The actual liftin into place is a 3 man job though.
We could have a look at your snork options too - I've got some bits left over and a correct size hole saw.

i got my hose from this place .. Flexible Hose Supplies UK - Flexible Hose Suppliers - Wyrem

they do all sorts of different types but i used the wyrem stuff and its bin fine ... aint the cheapest i spose but it was the best i could find .....

I just love peeps who make things rather than buy them, you have me thinking now.

Overall it's actually very good, paint it matt black or sumut?
