Hi Folks - Got the task of performing continuity checks on the inhibitor switch of a 2002 Range Rover 4.4 V8

Can anybody tell me the location of the Transmission control module please

thanks in advance!

Inhibitor switch I think is also known as the XYZ switch and is mounted on the side of the gearbox, connected via a cable to the gear selector in the cabin.

Hi

yes that's correct thank you. I want to continuity check the wires on the XYZ switch back to the transmission control Unit

my apologies perhaps I have caused some confusion

would you know where the Transmission control unit(ECU) is located.

Thanks
Dani

It lives in the big black plastic E-box under the bonnet, with the engine controller
