hi,

is there any safe/easy way of removing the plug after it's been tightened by some moron rock ape with more strength than brains ?

all i wanted to do was check the level before a long trip to and from the uk, but just can't move the plug. tried ratchet, breaker bar and 't' bar with a tube on it. scared i'll do some damage. or...is there a sneaky way of filling it through another hole if i drain it ? did this on my wife's 106 when i changed the cv joint and filled the box through the speedo drive cos the plug was rounded.

any advice would be great.

thanks....graham

have a look to see if yours has temp switch plug on passenger side of t/box ,should come undone with a breaker bar

Try undoing the level plug when the box is hot ie. after a run of a few miles, which it should be or at least warm when draining the oil

It's a taper thread and peeps always over tighten them longer bar and it'll go. once the initial break has been made the plug will come out easily.

Got mine undone with Socket bar and taps from a hammer on the end of the bar, was tight but light taps seemed to shift it really easily :)
