Hi all, sorry if in wrong place but quick question.

Had a few noises coming from underneath the Freelander (Auto TD4 2006) closer inspection propshaft had failed, this was replaced but within a week now appears the transfer Box has bit the bullet. My fault for ignoring until I could get it off the road, as my second car was also garaged.

My question is - is there any difference between a manual/auto transfer Box or if it has come from a petrol/diesel engined.

Prices are all over the place on eBay.

Cheers (clueless!!)

Don't know about that but doesn't the Freelander have a VCU that is prone to failure at about 80K? I think when it fails it is similar to using diff-lock on the road and causes transmission wind up which ends up breaking things. Do a search for VCU or go in the Freelander section and ask ( I won't go there as I have a defender and may catch some kind of disease if I did :D)
