Hi all.

Advice needed please. Got a weird problem which i've not seen before.

Sometimes I get the message while I start it "Trans failsafe prog - put into neutral", then I switch it off, restart the car and the message has gone. Car drives fine, doing long journeys, don't see the message while driving or going through the gears.

I'm only seeing this when starting it, but not all the time, sometimes. Any ideas? thanks in advance.

Helps to know what the vehicle is....Well it won't be a Classic so it rules that out, but it could be a P38, L322, L405, L320........

Model, year, etc will help as the different models and years have different criteria for different message warnings!

Hi. Brand new, changed about a month ago. Bosch one too.

The name on the battery means little these days.
Do you have the means to check the voltage across the battery? If so, check the voltage before you start it, then again at 2000rpm.
