hi all i have tried looking on the threads for info but got limitid info(maybe looking in the wrong direction)
Ive got Discovery 2 with 2inch sus lift and maybe another 2inch with my tyres.
Just wondering if i will have to drop my towball height for towing carvan/trailer and if so can i get an adapter plate for my original towing frame to drop the ball height down?? Tia steven

At a guess I'd say tow ball has to drop by about 4 inches :D, my D2 did have some adjustment on the back plate.

Int that what the Dixon Bates style tow hitches designed to do ;)?
Exactly! Thats what I use on both my D2 and my D1 which also has a lift. More important with a twin axle, but drawbar weight and loading is extremely important no matter what you are doing, when towing.
My towbar plate already has about 4 sets of mounting holes then I can mount the DB either way up and then it has all the adjustment a DB is designed for too. Best way of going, IMHO, and i have spent the last 12 years towing a huge twin axle box trailer to the Tarn in France and back. I put HD springs on the D1 which gave me a 2" lift, but when I suddenly had to use the D2 I left it standard.
