Sorry if this is wasting space but.....Was just reading an older post on tow bar covers being damaged by errant vehicles running into them... I wonder, if they split like this everytime a car decides to impale itself on the tow bar we ought to be considerate and have them painted red or yellow and black striped just to warn other drivers that these objects will do serious damage to cars that collide with them? I had to have a Datsun removed from my father in laws series II a few years back... MADE ME AT LEAST TEN MINUTES LATE. I wonder if our insurers make our premiums cheaper because we dont need major repairs everytime some idiot runs into the back of us? SHAM E THEY PUT THIS SILLY PLASTIC BUMPER STUFF ON THE FRONT OF DISCOVERIES INSTEAD OF A STEEL BUMPER LIKE THE ONE ON THE BACK? Oh and thanks again for all the help guys my discovery is well on the road to recovery now , turbo is doing well and it will take on the Pennine hills without fear. JUST NEED THE AUTO BOX SERVICED AND THE NEW CALIPERS PUTTING ON TO STOP THE BRUTE !!!

I doubt painting the tow bar any colour will help, if they can't see a two tonne Land Rover then they won't notice a 50mm bright orange tow ball! A 6inch spike on their steering wheel might help them stop a bit better next time though????
