Hi
Dont know much about cars but here gos.

Freelander td4 2003 es prem:

Just started happing, if i stop at lights, junction etc after traveling for a wile and need to change down, in to 2nd or 1st i need to - not all the time -push hard over to the left to get it in to gear. I once had a corsa that did this - gradualy got worse - and that was a gear gaiter prob, would my freelander have a simaler prob.

Under landrover exteneded warranty.

Thanks all

if you ain't happy, and it's under warranty, get it back to the garage. Even if they say there is nothing wrong, get them to document that they have investigated. That way, you have clearly identified that the fault may exist prior to the warranty running out, may give you some more clout if a later bigger problem comes up after the warranty runs out.

Had a renault laguna from new (company car). every service while it was under warranty, i complained about the bonnet release being too stiff to operate without a pair of mole grips, and they always put "lubricated locks cables and releases". First service out of warranty, they replace both locks on the bonnet and tried to invoice the firm for fitting two locks (£140 plus VAT). Gave it bollocks and produced all the other service invoices showing it had been an ongoing problem, and they backed down on the spot.
