I was thinking of buying one of these kits, the security element seems to be that the bolts and screws are allen torx. Do you guys think this is a good security feature or do you think the determined scum bag thief just comes back with the right tools.

+1 ^. The tools are readily available so an organised thief will soon nick the bits off yer car. But they will put off the casual opportunist. Fit them but don't rely on them.

So better than nothing I suppose, and as I was going to replace the current rusty bolts probably not a bad option.

If someone turns up with the wrong tool they may be spotted/detected, giving yer a tip oft that they have tried once, before a possible return. I would fit something like this if i owned a tratter.

IMHO, worthwhile fitting these bolts, if only to deter the casual d@@khead. If you can be bothered taking the diy-approach, you should be able to save a significant amount of dosh.

This isn’t the TMD web site (it doesn’t work well on a mobile) but this is the product.

A lot of money for some bolts you could get from a good ironmonger's for about £40.00.

The benefit is they took all the thinking out of it, you just buy a bag and fit, no thought required but if you can spare the time go take 1 of each type out and make a list of required head, thread size and length - I had this list made up myself when I did my rebuild but I am not sure which laptop/PC from the past it is now on.
