Need a 4x4 tipper for my work and was contemplating converting my current series 3 109' station wagon, is this possible? if so, does it make any financial sense?? (not that owning a series 3 ever makes financial sense!) any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated???

if ya mek it a chassis cab,ya mite get a trany or cabstar body/tipper set up t fit quite easily.

I had a series 1 tiper, the rear was built on a simple frame that rested on the chassis & bolt,d to the boddy mountings, it had a handle to wind the tiper up & downe, it was a proper convershon & had a name plate on the frame, it was scrapd in 1976.

I've got a little Landrover produced booklet with a whole list of the conversions available and the companies that produced them. Every thing from a PTO Bench saw to a aircraft baggage loader and a mobile cinema. Oh and a dustcart?

thanks everyone...redhand, whats the details on that booklet you mentioned?

Just a picture and the addresses of whoever supplied em.. But it might give you a start if you wanted an orginal tipper instead of a DIY jobby.

Redhand, have got a couple of numbers which will check out, if not what i'm looking for then may get back to you for more numbers etc?

jimbot90, thanks for the info, will give them a call,

thanks again

The booklet is about 40 years old. Not sure how many of the companies will still be trading??
