I have just bought this off the bay of E. Its a V8I auto with 116000 miles. There are a small list of jobs that need doing before its MOT in December. I am picking it up this Saturday, unfortunately one of the problems that it has is the return fuel line so it will be trailered home. Its only 120 miles from home :der:

Hopefully this wont turn into a full on rebuild like my Range Rover Classic has.

I will post plenty of pics, want this to be a good solid original Discovery to keep.

Nice I have an xs 300tdi in red. XS stands for excessive (rust) :D
Mine has some hidden gems but not too bad and sortable. Hope she turns out sound. I like boost loys on a disco and the wheelarch trims make it look disco 2 esque. I like the seat fabric too
Watch the sunroofs mine had just started leaking down the a pillar from seal on edge of sunroof to roof. Bead of clear silicone sorted it.
Good luck

Cheers for that. I went to see it and couldn't find any bad rot, os a pillar, ns outer sill and rear mud flaps. Everything else seems solid. The sunroof's have been sealed down already. I purposefully went for a XS because I like the interior and the looks of the outside. The Alloys are XS alloys and not Boost.

XS wheels didn't have a name, but called by some 'Deep Dish', at the time they were fitted to German spec discos. The XS when in the showroom also had the raised white lettering on the tyre side wall, not to every ones taste so dealers offered to reverse the tyre on the wheel FOC.
Boost wheels have a wider groove cut into the spokes and were fitted to the 50th anniversary disco and of course the Defender.
ES has the Freestyle wheels but as the were given the gunmetal colour were then called Tornado. :)

This is my XS

I didn't realise the wheels were specific to the XS. I fell for the look of it too although underneath I missed a few patches of rot. Nothing that cant be sorted at home though.

Your's looks in good nick!

Currently on the M4 with a 110 and trailer going to fetch it. Mine is good considering I have paid £430 for it

Christ that's cheap as. Mine cost me more than that but I guess v8s are a bit of a bargain these days. Have a goodtrip fetching it home

Well today I was booked in for its MOT but first I had to weld the sills up. A friend let me use his ramps, but I only had them for 4 1/2 hours.

So all was good and heading to the MOT, following a van billowing out smoke. Suddenly the smoke stopped as had the van and.........
