hi

My 2.5 has broken down three times...

First time it was ticking over then I pulled away then it stopped..

second going up a big hill...

Third ticking over again and just stopped...

After all three it would not start again ,but bumped it and it started...

I am guessing fuel starvation ,is the pump kaput?

On long journeys it is ace....

BTW changed fuel filter and loads of diesel in tank .......

First of all I would give it a good service before jumping in at the big end.

Check your lift pump, do you know how to do this? Search on here for lift pump problems, I have explained many a time how to check a lift pump.

If its gubbed, then replace it.

Hi

Did a search ,the lift pump seames to be doing everything it should..

I did drop the fuel tank and drain it ....What sort of pickup have these things got?

maybe I should buy a manual...

If its the side mount lift the drivers seat cushion, and then take the cover off and then you can see the pickup, return and sender unit on the tank, you can unscrew the pick up and pull it out, just a piece of pipe really.

Put a piece of pipe onto the input of your lift pump, and a the other end into a can of good clean diesel, prime the system and try that if you suspect a problem in the fuel lines.

Could be the IP is gubbed.
