I have been viewing this site for a while and got loads of info. I have tried to search for this question but unable to find an answer

I changed the ABs accunulator and the brakes work well but every time i press the break pedal the accumulator pump pressured up is this normal. I can remember if it done that before.

There has also been a part in the engine and it makes a ticking sound. I gets faster when ia accelerate have a 02 p38 v8 4.6 log converted attached is a picture of it

The ticking sound will be coming from the fuel non return valve (the item shown in your picks). Mine does the same on my '02 4.6. Apparently you can clean these out with carb cleaner.
If you changed the accumulator for a new one it shouldn't run every brake depression, more like every 4th / 5th. Maybe needs a fluid change?
 
If pump comes on every time you press brake accumulator is duff. Was it a new unit?
 
Thanks for the help and sorry for the spelling earlier I was using my phone and now I am on my laptop can see how bad it reads.

I bought the whole ABS Pump 2nd hand from ebay. At first I went to a garage and was told it was the pressure switch so I changed that and still the lights came on when I braked then I went back and was told it was the accumulator.

Since I have changed the accumulator the lights have went off and the braking is excellent its just that every time I press the pedal you here the pump\accumulator powering up. I did bleed the system after I changed the accumulator.

Accumulator is tired......fitting S/H is false economy and potential disasterous when it comes to Braking systems...

I am all for secondhand parts don't get me wrong, but when it comes to Brakes and Steering components...buy new, it could save your life!

New accumulator i am afraid old S/H one is knackered.

Have you seen the price of a new pump? Cheaper to change the car.:eek:
I wonder if the correct bleeding proceedure was followed?

I am slowly losing the argument with the wife that running a RR is cheaper than her horse.

Its worth it though

I am going to drain and replace all the brake fluid see if that helps if not looks like I will fork out for a new accumulator.

Had the same problem, we cleaned it as proposed but did not fix. Bought a new one. Affordable and easy to change
 
Just ordered a new accumulator from Island 4X4. Cheapest price I could find at 84 plus the dreaded.
