My series 2A runs well as far as I can judge, but there is a ticking sound.
It occurs when I give a bit throttle, mainly in 3th and 4th gear.
It sounds like the valve clearance is way too big.
When I'm driving in 4th gear i.e 60kmh, and I go on throttle a bit, the ticking comes, when I go off the pedal, it disappears.
I've been checkin the ignition timing, seems OK. Even moved the timing a bit backwards, no difference, so I don't think it is detonation.
Sometimes when I start the engine I do hear the same nois, but only for 3 seconds or so.
there is in my opinion no lack of power.
In neutral I can give full throttle, no problem, no ticking.
When I listen through a piece of wood at the engine, I hear all the valves doing their work and it sounds great.

anybody ideas what this could be?
