im a bit bothered with my 2.5bmw engine, chipped (i think it is original landrover.) the symptoms are as following.
1. I cant run the fuel tank low because it just stops when i stop at a traffic light,(and sometimes it wont start again), this leads me to think its the pump.
2. when i brake with the engine, its starts bumping as if it was misfiring or somthing, leads me tothink it could be a sensor or timing or something.
I think it could be the fuel pump, the fuel gauge doesnt work and i think the whole thing is just waiting to fall to bits. the cars starts right off (hot or cold) with the tank full, but when it gets close to empty i can drain the battery and not start the car.
id appreciate if someone whose had those symptoms or has a knowledge of what it is could help.
