Here's 3 queries about my Freelander 2 (P reg) which I have finally got round to asking here!

1. How can I remove whatever safety/locking thingy keeps my rear right door locked each time I unlock the car. So fed up of having to click unlock 3 times before the darned thing opens while I am standing there in the rain laden with shopping bags.

2. How do I bring up the "you have this many miles left on your diesel level" figure? I had it once I think and it disappeared and no matter what I press I cannot get it back.

3. I live somewhere with a couple of gates which means getting out, leaving doors open (so I don't lock myself out which I've read can be an issue if you leave the keys inside) and driving v short distances down driveways without my seatbelt on. All currently accompanied by beeping sounds. Can I switch them off for the seatbelt and door open situations?

Thanks

P reg, that's not right. The Freelander 2 was released in 2006, so are only available in 06 to 64 reg years.

You could use the boot, that's where I put shopping.

If a door is not unlocking correctly like the rest of the vehicle, then it needs a replacement lock actuator assembly. It needs changing ASAP or it'll stop unlocking altogether which is a world of pain with a door that can't be opened at all.

Press the button on the end of the indicator stalk and cycle through the screens till you get to the one you want.

If you're in sight of the vehicle, just leave the engine running. The car can't lock with the engine running and the vehicle stationary.

Sorry, I should say 2014. Must remember the first letter is not the year...

So the vehicle will definitely not lock if the engine's running and in park? OK. What about the seatbelt beeping once I set off between gates? Any way to turn off the beep?

As for the rear door, I thought I'd read that it was some sort of safety function. Is that not the case?

Not if the key is in the vehicle it won't.

You could on the early Freelander 2, but I'm not sure about the facelift.
You could try inserting and removing the belt in the buckle 10 times in short succession, which would stop the audible warning. I'm not sure if that trick works on the later models though.

If all doors except the drivers door need 2 presses of the unlock button to unlock them, then single point entry is enabled.
However if just 1 door is effected and it's random, then it's definitely the door lock actuator at fault.

I know this has been answered a few times

1. There's something you can do with setting the default unlock program. I'll have a look for video I found it.
Unlock the car as usual and when your driver door has been unlocked, press and hold the lock and unlock button at the same time for around 3 seconds. It should turn off the single point entry and open all doors on a single unlock button press.

2. It's on the indicator stalk although, if like me, you broke it, the button only works when you press it WHILE the left turn indicator is on. Although, I took the car in for a something else and when I got it back, that issue was fixed, so...
