Hi everyone, sorry if this has been asked before but would like to know what people mean when they say "thor" or "gems engines, what are the differences and how do i tell what is in my P38 4.6?
Any help much appreciated

I thought Thor and Gems were a married couple :confused: sure they had tiffs now and again but they stayed together for the sex and the children
 
Gems is earlier system (up to '99 i believe). Thor is the Bosch motronic (99 - 2002). Thor is regarded as a much more robust system, also with better torque.
Simple way to find out what yours is look at the plenum, if it's a rectangular shape with 4.6 stamped on top it's gems, if it looks like a bunch of bananas it's a Thor. :)

I do wander into the 'culture' on occasion but get tired of having to wipe my feet every time i re-enter here :D
