Freelander 1 - Renault(?) thermostat 'workaround'?
Hi, Happy Xmas! My thermostat is not working and I want to do the 'hack' of putting the thermostat in the top hose or wherever I am in UK for Chrimbo until 27th and would like to get one (bugger I forgot to do this earlier!) Can anyone please tell me what the part number or something to search...

Where does the temp gauge level out with a fully functioning original thermostat (i.e. without mod)?
On a not really hot or cold day, and driving, not in traffic
Half way, or 1/4 way?
or summat else?
I seem to remember mine sitting at 1/4 whatever the weather (from 0 to 40+ deg C here), even in traffic.
Then after my oil cooler failure, and my coolant system getting full of an oily gunk, it now sticks pretty close to the bottom

My experience is working original stat when up to temp is halfway, so vertical.
Stat stuck open is about 1/4.
Stat mod puts it back to 1/2.
