Hi, right then it all starts now. Yesterday I was sat in the motor for ten or fifteen minutes with ignition on 2 so I could listen to the radio. When I came to start it it was dead. So I jumped it from a friends car and then it was fine. I used it again last night for about ten miles and again no issues but then this evening it was completely dead. Have searched for some tips on here and have concluded that first things first is to get a battery charger and give that a whirl. The battery looks old so may just be getting near the end of it's life so if that doesn't work I will then replace it.

Am also ordering all filters and oil tomorrow along with some new glow plugs, mats, gaiters, windscreen wipers so when they all come will be fitting them. After that will be an EGR kit and pads and discs all around.;);)

To me, it sounds like your battery has died. Modern batteries are similar to Ni-Mn/Ni-Cad batteries, like you use in your portable devices - they go from all there to nothing.
Do a cap check of the battery first
