aup folks just fitted new tires (235 85 16) to the disco 97 300tdi an 2" lift
problem is now it leans to one side:eek:

front passenger side is the higest corner an rear drivers side is the lowest, but the passenger side is overall higher than drivers side,
i'm sure i read somewhere it will need an adjustable panhard rod, but not sure:confused:

do i need a new panhard rod or do i need to change back springs?

thanks in advance

Nick

what springs have you got mate? have had trouble with certain makes being totally different to eachother when you come to fit them.
Others however can be fine. Were they labelled back and front or are they all the same?

yu did put the springs in the rite positions? i believe they are position dependant.

the springs went back on the same way they came off.

answer to both of you is i used the original springs an used spacers to get the lift, but only noticed it was wonky after i put the new tires on,

an that was why i asked is it a panhard rod problem?

wassup Nick - don't yer like the answers yer got on the uvva channel?

not that mate was just of the opinion that the more info i can get the easyer it'll be to sort the problem out;)

so will get the bar on the bushes to test em in the mornin an then if nowt shows up i'll go for the new rear springs as they've done 116k miles so far:eek:

gotta ask this but WTF is a :bump: ??? other than what you do to your head when your under the land rover on a cold day !

just postin sommat / nowt ter bring the fred back up to the top
thas a bump.

just about to go out an check the bushes!

do i need to get the car on axle stands to check them or is it ok on the floor under its onw weight?
thanks
Nick

Sounds like you've not fitted the spacers or springs correctly. It's unlikely the tyres could make that much difference. The panhard rod wouldn't make the whole vehicle 'tip over' it'd make the axle offset a little, but only maybe 1/2" or less on a 2" lift ... So I'd put it on axle stands, take the wheels off and see what's wrong with either the spring seats, top or bottom, the spacer positioning, or the nut/bolt positioning of the spacers/dampers.

Did you do all four springs/spacers at the same time as the tyres? are the springs new or old/nackered? are the damper bushes new/old/nackered/in the right places?

If you can't see anything wrong, take a few pics of the top and bottom of the spring mounts and post back.

i used the old springs which have done about 116k miles all bushes were changed for poly bush in the summer
so may just replace spring anyway

i was wondering if i had twisted one of the springs when i put it back in as the compressor slipped on the side that is the lowest:eek:

will go an have a good look an let ya know

thanks

gonna post some photo's later see if it gives any idea's

all bushes look ok no play in them
so went to fetch new springs for the rear but nowhere was open, so had a word with a mate an he gave me the almost new springs he took off his disc in the summer to fit a lift kit

an its still the same:smash:

it sits at rear passenger side 91.5 cm
rear drivers side 88.5 cm
front passenger side 90.0 cm
front drivers side 87.0 cm

the rear bumper sits down by about 3/4 of an inch on the drivers side an is very noticeable
forgot to measure the front bumpers either side but wil do if any one needs the measurement.

off to download piccys now
