Hi Guys just bought a 1990 Landy ninety, transfered my insurance over to the new vehicle, to get good rates my insurance has told me i need to get a Thatcham CAT 1 Alarm fitted.

Dont want to spend hundreds of £'s but obviously want it to do a job or to at least deter. What have you all fitted, are there certain brands that are easier to fit...

Hopefully i can just buy and fit myself, look forward to responses

Cheers guys

Starving neutered dog with a badly decomposing human bone from the local graveyard works for me.:)

I can lend you a very large, very hairy, nasty looking dog - he won't shift his backside out of your 90 once he's in there though!!
I would check with your insurance about fitting it yourself first, the whole thatcham approved thing is a minefield. A lot of insurance companies want it installed by an approved fitter and a certificate to say so. Been through all this numerous times with motorbikes, on looking in to it deeper a few years ago I actually saved very little money after jumping through expensive hoops.

toad a606i. I got the microwave (warns anyone who steps inside a 6 inch external perimeter of tratter) and anti tilt bits too, so near 200 from ebay, 113 without. It's great. I got a chap to fit it who's installed em for years, but after years, he refused to pay thatcham 2.5k a year to be a registered installer, so he can't sign the certificate that needs to be signed for insurance company to discount (only a saving of 5 quid on my premium meant I wasn't fussed).
