Evening,
So last August I fitted 4 of these little beauties.
Terrafirma Adjustable +5" dampers.
Apart from the fact that fitting the was a rigth PITA getting the nyloc nuts to even engage on the thread was a fight . They seemed to work OK but were only really usable on the softest setting. Otherwise too harsh for driving on Greenlanes.
However I found the bushes started to crack due to the fact they were being too compressed to get the nyloc to actually engage on the thread.
Then I heard one making a noise like it was blown. When I got to do a greenalne post lockdown in July.
So after approx 1200 to 1500 miles at max. I decided to change them for a set of OME +5" shocks from a Gwyn Lewis.
What I took off looked like this after 5 minutes of being compressed.
Basically,
1 front shock is Ok ish. does have damping and rebound.
1 front has slightly less damping and the rebound feels notchy on the end of the stroke.
both rear shocks are completely fubarred. one of them I cannot even pull open once it was compressed.
So , beware of these units. I did not give them a massinve amount of abuse, yes they went over some terrrain that maybe a lot of LR owners may not drive in their daily driver, but certainly not winch challenge extreme.
Cheers
