my land rover decided to sieze its tensioner pulley yesterday on the way home from uni, luckily id only got a couple of miles before it seized.

not being able to find one on a friday afternoon, i set about bodging it by replacing the bolt with a thinner one and lathed up a brass bush. it got me home JUST. now all the balls have gone from the bearing and i am in dire need of a replacement before monday which is a big ask i know because everywhere useful shuts today at lunchtime.

i assumed it was a 200TDI air con tensioner pulley from a disco as thats where i got it from. but the ones i can find online are different and clamp around the fuel pump cover. which i cant use that setup for my application.

Not seen that type before, where does it actually fit on your set up?
Just wondering if it is actually a land rover part?

well i was sure it was an air con tensioner for a 200TDI disco. but all the ones ive seen are different. thats where i got it from.

its now being used to tension the water pump belt (in replacement of the PAS pump pulley) on my 200TDI converted series.

The std tensioner on the tdi air con and the v8 looks like its bolted to a bracket thats bolted to the water pump/timig chest, maybe you could get one and mod it to suit?
On my 200tdi series i have the alt mounted up in the air con pump position and the one belt driving alt and the water pump, alt moves to tension the belt, not perfect but seems to work.

defender 200 tdi air con tensioner is 614718 and jusy bearing is 614154 ,i would expect them to be similar

theyre different. the clamp fitting instead of the through bolt fitting i needed. i just ordered a bearing from my local bearing specialists and it should be at home now. i am however at uni so ill have to wait till the weekend.
