Hello,
I'm trying to fit a temperature sender (part no. 560794) to my 1966 series 2a, with what I believe to be the original engine (no. 252xxxxxH), but the sender thread is slightly smaller than the threaded hole in my thermostat housing. Logically I need an adaptor but I can't be sure which one to buy from those that are available from the various suppliers. I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has met this problem before. I know I can buy an aftermarket sensor that fits in the top hose, but I would like to use the original style sender unit. Many thanks.

568457is adapter fits 2a and series 3

Intersting, that's pricey for what it is! What threads is it, I 'm waiting on a replacement temp sensor for the Perkins - 5/8 UNF (or at least I hope it is, won't be sure until the old one comes out.)

I've bought one of the adaptors part no. 568457 and can confirm it is the correct item. Many thanks Jamesmartin for your help.
