Greetings all, Yet another niggle; on my 1.8 1999 Freelander with another new head gasket ( all fingers and legs crossed); the temperature gauge has now ceased to work. I've put in a new sender as the most obvious choice but that didn't do it. Any ideas as what to look for next, please?

Fuse is Ok, couldn't see any broken wires. Where does the sensor get connected to before going to the gauge?
check whether there are any volts on the wire at the sender end - if so short to earth and the guage should go fsd.
