got a problem front shaft broke on my 60 plate 2.4 puma on stripping it came across the frot tube on passenger side had split and opened up which put pressure on shaft hence reason for breaking ??

thing is i have a disco 1 or landrover 90 1995 year
that i can use the front axel
i also going to strip down use the diff and drivers side shaft assemble would it be ok
just to leave 1995 passenger side shaft in place ???
hope this makes sense

Yep, you need up upload some pics. If you are meaning the axle casing has split open you need to change the whole casing, if you mean the stub shaft then just buy a new one.

You need a new axle casing then. Do not go trying to mix 1990's axle parts with your later model.

got it got a axel casing here ordered a new shaft and cv joint its commong tommrow so ill be back together on road tommorow

Have seen many a damaged axle casing over the years, mainly on competition vehicles but have never seen an end flange come away. May have been faulty from new.

yes they were mate
landrover done a recall on certain puma ones dependine on vin
and formed a bracket so if it did break you never lost the wheel quite a snazzy bracket
and thats whats on mine so had the mod saved them replacing the axel but they should of done
anyway thats it landrover

just think poorer quality on saying that
i used the axel caseing from a 1998 defender and that had like 2 welds around where the sphere bolts up to
but on the puma has only 1 weld to hold together
