ok pop quiz where did the TDV8 lump come from is it RR design and build or is it out of a jag..............all iknow about them is one ****ed passed my 3.9disco and i couldnt catch it full stop had to put my ego back in its box:doh:

I hope you are sitting down as this will be a shock to any RR drivers who think they have a thoroughbred Rangie

It was designed by Ford and is built at Dagenham on the same production line as the TDV6

and where did thwe tdv6 come from peugeot/citroen!

i have 250 bhp beat them every time till i hit a high speed limit in the auto box lol

I've heard (on a different forum) that the TDV6 & 8 are somewhat unreliable. This is a pity as I'd like to upgrade to a Range Rover. What does the panal think?

So which is the best remap for a tdv8? Loads of them about so pick one or land rover only?

I fitted new turbos to a tdv8 recently and lots of components had ford stamped on them . great fun taking the body off to fit them!!

Tdv6 was a jaguar/pug engine designed and built by ford. It's name is the lion engine.
Blocks are made in south amercia.
Both v8 and v6 are pretty reliable considering the modern emission laws which are now half the engine. Specially with 3.0tdv6 opposed to the basic 2.7

with it being a ford design them thing are fookin bullet proof. built and tested in pickup and light duty truck and down sized for auto industry. Most will have a speed limiter on them. mine is set at 98-99mph factory setting. with playing with them guys are gettting 1200hp with bolt on parts. Pickup 4x4 doing 1/4 mile at 148mph

650 Lb/Ft of torque!! Holy **** - now that's proper grunt. Super Landy!
I would love a TDV8 with an auto box in a 90 but not in this life sadly.

Unfortunately it aint the bomb proof power stroke you get

Its a fragile light weight time bomb
