Hi,

I've recently bought a 2007 TDV6 and the radio isn't working.

The screen is black, its terrible at picking a signal up, (not that you can see if its found a station) and it missing a couple of buttons.

I've found a second hand head unit on ebay, though looking through, the Freelander head unit looks exactly the same to me, and there's a couple that are cheaper.

My question is are they compatible? I've attached a pic of the unit i'm after.

Look forward to your replies,

Nick

I have no idea if they fit/work, but do know the d3 had a few variations (dependant on spec) and they were not interchangable.
Hard reset is always worth a try.

You're best off asking in the Discovery forum area, as this forum is for engines, and doesn't see anything like as much traffic as the general disco forum.
As to your question. If the HU is faulty, then a diagnostic on the infotainment system will be needed to identify the exact issue. However as that HU looks like the base model with internal amp, so you can simply change it to something more modern from the likes of Pioneer or Kenwood.

And no, a Freelander HU probably won't be suitable, as the vehicle electrical systems are completely different, as is the centre console where it fits.
