Hi Everyone.
Looking to do a transmission fluid change on my Range Rover TD6 03 plate.
I am going to have a go at changing my self after a local autobox specialist quoted me £350 plus vat to do it.
They have the whole kit of fleebay for around £80 to £90 with filter gasket bolts and transmission fluid.
I think I have the GM box but can anyone tell me what fluid I can use ?
The ads on fleebay show Dextron 6 or a Comma brand

You will have the GM5 gearbox and you must ONLY use the correct Texmatic fluid as specified in the manual else gearbox issues will come sooner than you would like!

Thanks Saint V8..
Do you know where you can purchase the Texamatic fluid...not much information on the net with regards buying it?

The fluid is Texamatic 7045E.....now made by Havoline I believe.

It is available from a number of suppliers on the internet, either in bulk or in 1 litre bottles....even ebay list it!

While BMW, GM, Ford etc moved on to other formulations of ATF in their GM boxes, Land Rover stuck firmly with the 7045E for the Td6.

Do an advanced search on this forum and put in 'Texamatic 7045E' and find posts by a member called Bemble.....the guy is a fecking L322 auto box genius....he will detail the history of the auto boxes on these models and why it is important to use the fluids LR specify.....he used to strip and re-build the L322 ZF box - for fun - now he has opened up a business refurbing the boxes and supplying parts.....the knowledge this guy has for the autobox is phenomenal...
