So I've had my Vogue for a couple of months now and all was going great. But then.... went to the shops and now the car will not start.
Place key in ignition steering lock is released. Ignition lights all on, turn the key and all lights and the radio turn off engine does not crank. Return key to off position but leave in and there is a sound like a fan sort of running for a few seconds coming from the A/C controls.

Wait for 15-20 seconds and the radio screen comes back on. Dim at first but then gets bright, but just shows the land rover logo

Other thing to note. I cannot get the auto box out of park. Its jammed solid.

So while I wait for recovery thought I would ask the group, ANY IDEAS?

Many thanks guys and gals.

Flat battery or at least too low on power to kick in by sounds of it.
Hey thanks for the reply the AA came out and battery was at 12v managed with the aid for his van and 2x booster packs to get it going. Is charging at 50amps but when shut down has a 10amp drain for ages. Its in for a new battery as we speak.

10 amps seams very large and the radio screen stays on for a while with a flashing power button.

Read elsewhere this could be the resistor in the foot well do you think it could be the case for the large draw down in power?

Probably too late now but best to fit a MF31-1000 battery, it's the biggest that will fit.
Thank you but yes is tolate. I'm away from home on holiday so have to have what I can get. 800amp battery supplied and fitted £125....
I'm happy with that will get me home at least.

New to these myself but figured out the heater has a small fan in it and the gear display that stays on a good 15mins + after being locked up. Leave it and go back 25mins or so later and see if gearchange light has gone out.

Investigation on mine found the permanent live to the stereo head unit has been adapted to an ignition feed as history shows it having a new alternator and battery and some scribbles about current draw.

Again on search have read about satnav firmware getting bricked by power surges/battery swaps so on mine I guess that was their fix

When I replace to standard power on start up:
1. Blank screen just radio noise in background
2. Land rover screen only no sound
3. Old typeface on stereo and no satnav showing

Usually in cycles so I i set it how I wanted it all on permanent and reverted to repair mode and it's been spot on since

Might try flashing the firmware one day but found best leave it alone in these before cause any other faults lol.

There's 2 fuses in glove box to the stereo I found. I pulled those out and left it a while to reset mine.
#8 on top row 5a
#49 bottom row middle 30a

Found just leaving stuff in these Helps as the canbus? Can have a hissy at times

Thanks guys

I had the battery changed and asked the garage to leave the car with the bonnet up for an hour after fitment with an amp clamp.
current draw dropped to 0.4amps
I have a feeling that the battery just died without any heads up.
