Hi everyone,
I have the chance of a 1999TD5 5 seater at a very good price. I really need a seven seater. Can anyone tell me if I can fit a couple of third row seats to a 5 seater td5. I know you can do it to a 300 tdi as I had to do this to my last one. Not so fussed about fitting two seats as long as I can fit one.
Also if anyone has the parts that I need and is willing to sell or would know where I could get the parts, would be much appreciated.

Third row seats are often sold on eBay as reasonable prices. I gather it's fairly simple but make sure you get the matching seatbelts !

Does the car have air suspension or coils on the back ? If it is on coils you may be in trouble with your insurance company over modifications.Aparrently td5's were only type approved with 7 seats on air suspension,not coils.Hate to be a killjoy but we all know what insurance companies are like these days - trying to find any excuse not to pay out.

Helluva good point. I hadn't thought about the insurance side of things. Any mod should see the insurance company notified, and reasonable mods like this don't really make much difference to the premiums.

i have to pay a premium on my insurance cos my disco left the factory as a 7 seater, i even enquired about removing them but i was tol;d it would make no difference.
