I have a 2001 Defender 90 TD5 with 75,000 on the clock, the shock absorber bushes are worn and will fail the next MOT and recently the ride is harsh. I want to upgrade the shocks for something better and am considering Poly-bushes as well. Does anybody have recommendations through good experience?
I don't want to go mad on Fox V2's or something equivalent but don't mind forking out £40 - £50 / corner.
I also read somewhere softer springs are used on ICON's but would this compromise occasional towing?

A two inch lift will not improve your road handling or comfort. I suggest keeping standard rubber bushings (better comfort than poly), keep the springs if they are ok and invest in adjustable absorbers.
