 Just finished Taking the Bottom half of my sunroof off of my TD5 Disco. After having the good old problem of the Plastic drainage Tube Snapping off and Filling my car with water..And I can Honestly say What a load of rubbish..What Idiot invented that..You have a metal Tray, then on the Front corners you have what looks like two Plastic Bird cage Feeders, stuck on with some silicone muck..Which then consist of a very Fine plastic Tube connector on each of the two Plastic water drains..Now I see I have to get it done for a couple of hundred pounds ..Or start looking around and put my Blue Peter head on and find something to bung in the hole like a bit of pen bit of tube, bit of something etc etc..Pity you cant buy the silly little plastic cups from landrover..It would save a lot of money and problems..Of which is ongoing..Just remember when you feel like having a Yawn and you stretch your arms up towards the ceiling,Watch out that you don`t put any pressure with your hands around the sun roof ..Because you could break one of those little pipes off and soak the insides of your Landrover the next rainy day..Beware.. Now wheres my Blue Peter Head......

Looking at other posts on Landrover sunroof leaks..It seems that its normal for the sunroof to let water in..Thats why they have the gutters with drainage..They never seal completely..Even with new rubber seals..Someone Please correct me if I am wrong....

It's not normal at all the sunroofs don't leak although not not a good design (the slide-into the roof style is better) you dont expect them to leak when the vehicle is new.

Your just looking at a few forum posts where the seal have become faulty and have to be replace.. but hasn't and the vehicle has been sold on what about the hundreds of owners out there not part of any forums, or have a reliable disco and therefore don't have any problems... like me.

The drains won't help if the sunroof frame to body seal is faulty, water will just seep straight in, than will run to the lowest part of the headlinging before dripping into the cab.

Have you wondered why the drains are only at the front? there not there just in case a glass seal is ever faulty what was LR thinking of if it was :D.
