Hi All

Just got back from a fews days camping in the lake district and aquired a leaking radiator.

I live in cheshire, does anyone know where i can get a decent replacement and some idea of cost?

Is it easy to fit or am i looking at a garage?..and if so any ideas on what this would set me back ?

Should i be looking for OEM or aftermarket ?

Cheers

Geoff

Depends on what you want to pay, OEM will be more expensive than aftermarket.

If it were me, I would be going down the aftermarket route.

A TD5 radiator is easy to change... the only specialist tool you will need is the fan spanner to get the viscous fan off. you can get them at halfords for a tenna, a decent socket set and spanners will take care of the rest and an extra long crosshead for removing the light surrounds..

I stripped mine down in the dark in an evening and put in the replacement and recharged the coolant in about an 2hrs in the daylight.

you have to dismantle most of the front end grill to get it but out, but it's not rocket science... have the manual to hand though.

the TD5 fan in a right hand thread (it will say left hand on the spanner), it may just knock off with a shock... but I had to manufacture a tool to hold the pully in place. (just a flat bar with a couple of hole in the right place) Be prepaired for swearing at that

I paid about £115 for a new rad from Island 4x4 mail order came the next day... while you are doing it... change the fan belt for £10 and also flush your intercooler clean as it will have to come out anyway...

good luck
