hi all weve got a 2000 discovery td5 auto in at the mo with the common oil down the loom to ecu problem... after test after test weve replaced the ecu... will we be able to program the ecu ourselves or will it have to go to main dealer? we do have the usual plug and play diagnostics tools so is it something we can do with this? cheers

Assuming you disconnected the battery earth before disconnecting the ECU for cleaning, there should be no re-programming neccesary.

Oooooops  just reread your post. You have installed a new ECU so you will need to code the injectors to the new ECu - apart from anything else.

Nanocom/HawkEye/Testbook/Autologic will do that job.

If its a new ecu it will need a software download, security relearn and injector codes inputting - when you do it with T4 it leads you through all the needs inc taking the injector codes from the old ecu.
Did two TD5 ecu's last week,one XA - 99my,one 2A - 02my.Both failed intermittently,then one died altogether.
They seem to be popping off quite alot recently, maybe this will become a TD5 old age common problem ?
