Evening All

Going to buy a Nanocom Evo for my TD5 later this month and already have a question. I understand it can do live data, and that's great, but if you don't know what a particular reading should be, how do you know if it's wrong? :eek:

So, are there any documents showing "default" values for the live readings for the TD5? An example would be fuel pressure.

Also, can a Nanocom tell me if the ECU has been remapped or changed from it's original settings?

Hi, to answer your questions
1. the fuel delivery system is not covered by diagnostic except the fuel temperature, for pressure you need a gauge, to figure out if the readings are good or not you need some experience but i made a list with generic values(attached)
2. if your vehicle is fitted with a NNN..... ECU you can read the fuel map version and compare with the factory one based on the tune and config ID's if it's with MSB ECU nanocom will not help in that (read nanocom user guide)

I just realised that the cylinder balance is missing from that list, ideal is to be between +/- 4 measurable only at idle

Having looked at your list, I ran mine today and the MAF reading goes to a max of 470 at 217 turbo pressure, is this OK?, I thought it looked a little low.

It's a bit low... important is how much the AAP drops at full load, if it's more than 3 units you might need new air filter, what's the MAF reading at idle? ... for the beginning clean the MAF with dedicated cleaner and the MAP with carburetor cleaner...do you still have EGR?, if yes at ;east clean it but better get rid of it ASAP, also shorten the wastegate rod untill 10 threads left out from the locknut

Yes it's low, clean it with dedicated MAF cleaner(is it genuine LR(VDO/Siemens unit?) ... and replace the air filter if it's old... then if you get below 55 at idle better put a new GENUINE one... also the readings at high revs are not very relevant cos it should be 650 at full throttle in 4'th(manuals or kickdown(autos) and your throttle according to the reading was only around 2/3 of it(2.8V track 1)... full load means at least 4V on track 1(accel way 1)

will get on that, filter was new a few months ago, will check that out. I understand it is a genuine MAF fomr what I have seen. Then I will go out and give it some beans to check the MAF.

You can shorten the wasegate rod too... you didnt say anything about EGR though, everything i said is important but if you dont answer i can't help
