Evening all.
My 2003 Td5 90 has developed a misfire.
On start up from cold, the engine starts first time within a second of turning the key , however after one or two seconds of running, it starts to get a little rough and if the accelerator is depressed a misfire is present which you can feel throughout the truck, which develops a large amount of white smoke from the exhaust (this smells very much like in un burnt diesel).
Once the engine starts to warm, both the misfire and the smoke totally disappear and the engine runs perfectly all day, even if left for a couple of hours. However when left overnight and allowed to fully cool down, i have the same issue on first start up.
I have no loss of coolant and the oil level doesn't appear to be rising (however I do have a slight oil leak and have no need to to it up from month to month).
I did fit a safari snorkel a couple of weeks ago which I am wondering if it could be causing the issue but I'm not sure how or why?
I replaced the injector harness last Friday which has made no difference and I have also cleaned up the MAP sensor and checked the MAF sensor which was perfectly clean.
Are these symptoms of injector seal failure or can you suggest anything else that It might be?
Any comments will be much appreciated!
Thanks
