Hi all

My td5 black top injectors have the following numbers on them.

Cylinder 1 - 2
Cylinder 2 - 2
Cylinder 3 - 3
Cylinder 4 - 4
Cylinder 5 - 1

Is This number beneath the lettering on the top of the injector important? as i am trying to troubleshoot problems with mine and belive it may be injector related, are there supposed to be 1 - 5 on the top of them or is this just a non important number?

any help is really appreciated

It doesn't have to be numbers 1 to 5 on them.

what are the problems you are having?

Just getting a lot of loud vibration in the higher revs, i think its an injector misfiring at high rpm, it idles beauitifully but at around 2500 it vibrates like a bag of spanners, ive changed the dual mass flywheel, and the crankshaft pulley damper, and its the same in high range and low, so its an engine noise not transmission, im nearly out of ideas to be honest

does it do it only when moving/under load or when static as well?

injector seals maff on its way out have you had it pluged in anywhere for diag before wasting money is it actualy missfiring

Are you confident on the fuel delivery to the injectors? eg Fuel Pressure, pump, regulator and injector seals?

The numbers are not important, if you remove the injectors they MUST go back into the same port. Note the 5 character code on the top before you remove them and if you replace any the ECU will need to be notified of the new injector.
FYI mine had the following numbers / codes:
Cylinder 1 -1
Cylinder 2- 4
Cylinder 3 -2
Cylinder 4 - 2 so noted code, NGBGA
Cylinder 5 - 1 so noted code, NGBDA

Only 4 and 5 non unique so noted the codes for them.

If you take them out, replace O rings and washers with OEM kit, makes a great difference.
