Thanks again,
trying to understand the difference between
13 crank sensor and 16 src crank sensor.

i have a pink and grey cable to 13 but have a black to 16, but it appears the black cable is damaged, odd as its the wrong colour and appears to be bared a few inches down from red ecu plug.

always the way when something has been altered from the original wiring , know that’s not much help to u

maybe someone else will know why those wires are like that and been altered ,

There are, at least, 5 different versions of the ECM loom, and they have wiring and colour differences. I know because my company used to make ECM extension looms.

Be forewarned that there are at least two screened pairs within the loom as well.

great thanks, now this pic form the link you posted shows the same black wire i have going into a RBK

bit of conduit!

just find it odd that my one is bare wire!
just part of my massive lumpy idle headache, now trying to trace wires to find any worn/earthing faults, juts find it too much of a coincidence that this one is bare and its the "SRC" crank position sensor, (what the hell is SRC?)

I have a pain in the butt recent problem, intermittent hunting or lumpy Idle.

Original fault was poor starting, so :

New injector seals ( discovered injector roller mis-aligned and scoring cam so fitted new cam and injector rockers)
New Glow plugs
New MAF MAP and ATS
EGR deleted 2 years ago
Now starts perfectly (half a turn), but appears to have developed this annoying & intermittent fault.

So I cured the starting problem, but trying seems I now have another problem!
To diagnose this fault I found a serious imbalance on two injectors, so replaced them as well.

The clutch spigot bearing does make a noise for around 60 seconds when first driving, but it has always done this.

Crank Position sensor?
DMF on the way out?
Clutch switch?

yep its driving me slowly mad i am running out of hair!

i understand the frustration , lol

walk away and make a nice cuppa , wonder if theres a wiring diagram for ur loom and ecu

will see if the numbers come up with anything

I expect you have covered it but haven't mentioned above, the injector loom/ecu oil thing
