Will be fitting the winch to the front think they sell a power take off unit that can drive to the front and the back

Yeah I though that the cover was machinable to give fr/rr drive, gotta love maxidrive gear, they do build quality stuff :)

What sort of money do these things cost? (I googled but couldn't find a price:()

Thank god!!!

I just looked on eBay.co.uk to see what PTO prices were second hand and had a cow!!!

But I see that currency is in my favour at half the price for the second hand parts and shipping won't be silly.

i looked at getting one from europe think they were a bit pricey and postage would be a killer cost me $80 to get it from Australia to New Zealand is also a company in malaysia that make them. From what i understand the maxi-drive pto unit sits a bit higher than other pto drives so should be less likely to snag on a rock or some thing .

For the life of me I can't see why they're so expensive, there really isn't much to them!

Second hand ones seem to be lb for lb like gold dust
here's a link to the ones in Malaysia they are about $400 nzd more than the maxi-drive units. The way that i justify putting a pto winch on is that in 15 years with a little maintenance it will still be going hard.
I know a few guy's that are on there 2nd or 3 electric winch in 15 years at about $700 TO $1200 a winch can pick up old Toyota and Nisan pto winches for bugger all
