I have a 1999 discovery td5 automatic need a new gearbox could anyone please tell me if a 2004 auto box will fit straight in

If it was removed from a D2 it will fit no matter what year it is

Have a look at the Ashcroft site re the upgraded torque converter (V8.) while the gearbox is out. Supposed to transform the drive ability. Just can't justify it on mine because it's so rarely driven.
